Island Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is a total orthopaedic care facility whose mission is
to offer patients high-quality comprehensive diagnostic, non-surgical, and surgical treatment.
Our subspecialty and fellowship-trained staff work with athletes, and non-athletes, who have
sustained an injury or are experiencing on-going problems in the arms, shoulders, neck, back,
knees or legs.

Dr.'s Jonathan Ticker and Armand Abulencia, along with their partners Dr.'s Michael Carroll,
Douglas Barkin and Robert Lippe, are committed to working along side Farmingdales's certified
athletic trainers to maintain the health and performance of the student-athletes at the
university. The physicians, with extensive sports medicine experience, strive to get an injured
student-athlete back onto the playing field as quickly and safely as possible.
