Rams Ready to Host Soccer Playoffs

Men to Host Thursday at 2pm;Women to Host Friday at 2pm

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State soccer teams have grabbed the 1st and 2nd seeds for the Skyline Playoffs this week, as the men finished in first place and the women finished in second place, both with an 8-1 Conference record.

The men finished atop the Skyline for the first time in school history, winning a school record 11 games so far (11-6-1) and guaranteeing home field advantage throughout the Tourney. The men received a Bye for Tuesday's quarterfinal round and will host the winner of the #4 Old Westbury/#5 Bard game in the Semifinal round on Thursday, November 6th at 2:00 p.m. The Championship game will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 8th, at 1:00 p.m. at the highest remaining seed. The Conference Champion will receive an automatic bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament.

1. Farmingdale State, 8-1
2. St. Joseph's (L.I.), 7-1-1
3. Mount Saint Mary, 7-2
4. Old Westbury, 6-3
5. Bard, 6-3
6. Maritime, 3-5-1

The women's team played their toughest schedule yet in '08, finishing 10-9 overall and grabbing Second place in the Skyline for the Wednesday/Friday/Sunday Tournament schedule. With the #2 seed, the Rams receive a Bye for Wednesday's quarterfinal round and will host the winner of #3 Bard/#6 Old Westbury game in the Semifinal round on Friday, November 7th, at 2:00 p.m. The Championship game will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 9th, at 1:00 p.m. at the highest remaining seed.
