Rams Baseball Falls to Kean in Home Opener

Farmingdale State fell to 1-1 overall after dropping a non-conference game to Kean University (11-3) 14-8. Kean held a 5-0 lead after three innings, before the Rams came back to score four runs in the bottom of the third, forcing a pitching change by the Cougars. Kean outscored the Rams 9-4 over the next five innings and the game was called after eight innings of play due to darkness.

Kean?s Steve Wohltman (West New York, NJ/Memorial) picked up the win for the Cougars. Aaron Richard (Plainfield, NJ/St. Joseph?s) finished hitting 3-for-5 with three runs batted in. Anthony Puzzo (Lacey, NJ/Lacey) also went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. David Adamo (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) hit 1-for-4 with a double and 3 runs batted in.

The Rams were led by senior captain Anthony Scali (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) hitting 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Sophomore Steve Corvetti (Rockville Centre, NY/Southside) went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.

Farmingdale State hosts Utica ? Rome on Friday, March 25th in a double-header starting at noon.
