Baseball Comes Up Short Against William Paterson

The Rams baseball team fell to 1-5 overall after a 9-7 non-conference loss against visiting William Paterson (8-5) on Wednesday afternoon. With the game scoreless going into the fourth inning, William Patersonís senior catcher Anthony Mazzo (Emerson, NJ/Emerson Boro) and freshman third basemen Anthony Cacciola (Washington Township, NJ/Bergen Catholic) hit back-to-back solo homeruns for the 2-0 lead. Mazzo enjoyed the first multi-home run game of his career, slugging another shot in the fifth inning to lead the team with 2 RBIís and three runs scored. Farmingdale trailed 5-0, but came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to two runs. Both teams scored four runs in the seventh, and would not score in the final two innings, to give William Paterson the eventual victory.

Farmingdale's Steve Corvetti (Rockville Centre, NY/Southside) led the Rams with three RBIís and two hits, including a 2RBI double in the seventh inning.

The Rams will take on Baruch College at home on Thursday, April 7th at 3:30 pm.
