Three Game Winning Streak Snapped by Dowling

Farmingdale, NY - Farmingdale State fell to 4-9 on the season with a 13-1 loss to Dowling College today in Farmingdale, NY. Junior pitcher Alden Schroeder (Islip, NY/Islip) pitched five innings, giving up only one run on four hits in the win for the Golden Lions.

Junior second baseman Ryan Pembroke (Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River) scored the Rams lone run in the fourth inning. Pembroke finished the day 1-for-1. Farmingdale State was held to five hits in the game.

Dowling was lead by junior infielder Wilberto Ortiz (Brooklyn, NY/La Salle Academy), who went 3-for-5 with a double, four runs batted in and one run scored. Sophomore outfielder Henry Fuentes (Brooklyn, NY/La Salle Academy) also added three hits, two runs scored and one run batted in for the Golden Lions. Junior infielder James Healey (Bohemia, NY/Suffolk Community College) tripled in the fourth and finished with 3 runs batted in. Sophomore pitcher Richard Barry (Ronkonkoma, NY/Connetquot) finished the last 2 innings for the Golden Lions allowing no runs and only one hit.

Sophomore pitcher Eric Boyajian (Middletown, NY/Minisine) suffered the loss for the Rams, allowing eight runs on seven hits in four innings pitched.

Farmingdale State will travel to Dowling tomorrow, March 22nd, for a 3:30pm match up to finish the two-game series.
