Rams Fall Against Dowling College

HOLBROOK, NY - The Farmingdale State Baseball team (4-10) traveled to Dowling College (5-5) on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference game in Holbrook, NY. Senior starting pitcher Jason McCorry (Wantagh, NY) gave up only four hits and one run over six innings as the Golden Lions captured a 10-2 victory over the Rams.

Sophomore pitcher Eric Golden (Putnam Valley, NY/Lakeland) got the start on the mound for Farmingdale State and kept them in the game through four innings, allowing only four earned runs with one strikeout. The Rams fell behind 1-0 in the first, but tied the game at 1-1 in the second inning with sophomore Rob Savarese's (Syosset, NY/Syosset) hit to shortstop scoring senior Jeremy Small (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) from third.

James Healey (Bohemia, NY) broke the 1-1 tie in the fourth with a two run homer to give Dowling a 3-1 edge. The Golden Lions struck again in the fifth and seventh innings, bringing in a combined seven runs. Kevin Reese (Ronkonkoma, NY) knocked in two runs on a single and then reached home on a passed ball in the fifth. Five hits in the seventh put the lead to 10-1.

In the eighth inning, the Rams were able to bring in one more run as freshman John Anarumo (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) scored off of sophomore Luis Feliciano's (Bronx, NY/Park West) single.

Farmingdale State plays a doubleheader against Staten Island on Thursday, March 23rd at 3:00pm.
