Staten Island, NY - The Farmingdale State baseball team improved to 5-10 overall with a win over Staten Island (3-4) on Thursday afternoon in Staten Island, NY. The Rams took a quick 1-0 lead in the first, before adding four in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth to roll past the Dolphins 12-0. Senior Jeremy Small (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) pitched five innings of relief for the win, allowing just three hits and striking out two.

Farmingdlae State freshman Anthony Thompson (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and one run batted in. Junior Nick Barone (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) had two hits, including a triple and four RBI's. Junior John Basquez (Sunnyside, NY/Cordoza) finished with two doubles and two RBI's. Sophomore Luis Feliciano (Bronx, NY/Park West) had two stolen bases.

Staten Island's Jorge Almarante (Bronx, NY/JFK) led the Dolphins with two hits.

The Rams now face William Paterson in Wayne, New Jersey for a non-conference game on Friday afternoon, March 24th at 3:00pm.
