Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State baseball team took both games of a conference double-header with Old Westbury (4-7, 0-2 Skyline) to improve to 7-11 overall and 2-0 in the Skyline Conference. Both sophomore starting pitchers, Jesse Scott (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and William Jansen (Westhampton Beach, NY/ Westhampton Beach), pitched complete games for the wins.
In the first game, Scott gave up six hits and struck out four in the seven-inning 2-0 shutout. Junior second baseman Ryan Pembroke (Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River) scored the only run the Rams would need in the second inning, on sophomore shortstop Luis Feliciano's (Bronx, NY/Park West) ground out. Pembroke would add an insurance run in the sixth by doubling to right, scoring junior third baseman John Basquez (Sunnyside, NY/Cordoza) from first base.
Panther's senior starting pitcher Argelis Rosario (Corona, NY/ Flushing) also pitched a complete game in defeat, giving up one earned run on four hits.

Farmingdale was led by William Jansen in the second game. Jansen allowed no earned runs on five hits and struck out eight in the complete game victory. Ryan Pembroke went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs batted in and one run scored. Freshman first baseman Anthony Thompson (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) added three runs scored and one run batted in on two hits. Junior right fielder Nick Barone (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) had two hits, a double and three runs scored.
Senior pitcher Nelson Hernandez (Prospect Park, NY/Telecommunications) went 4.1 innings giving up six earned runs on nine hits in the loss for Old Westbury. Junior first baseman Alan Anderson (Brentwood, NY/Suffolk) went 2-for-4 with a double.
Farmingdale will host another Skyline Conference double-header against Centenary tomorrow, March 26th, starting at noon.
