Heeman and Phelan Named Skyline Pitcher and Rookie of the
Week
- Both pitchers pick up first weekly Skyline awards to wrap up

Lawrenceville, N.J. - Senior pitcher Tom Heeman
(Valley Streak, N.Y./Hewlett) and freshman pitcher Chris Phelan
(Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) were named the Skyline
Conference Pitcher and Rookie of the Week for baseball on Monday,
April 27th.
Heeman, a senior right-hander, turned in a strong effort against
St. Joseph’s as the Rams secured the top seed for the Skyline
Conference tournament. In the opener against the top-hitting team
in the conference, Heeman gave up just one earned run over 7.2
innings. He scattered seven hits and struck out four while earning
his sixth win of the season.
Phelan, a freshman right-hander, returned to his hometown and
surrendered just five hits and one run over six innings to help the
Rams complete the St. Joe's sweep and earn the top seed in the
conference tournament. In just his third start of the season,
Phelan struck out five and walked just one in improving his record
to 2-1.
