Yera and Heeman Named Skyline Player and Pitcher of the Week
Lawrenceville, N.J. - Junior outfielder Frank
Yera (New York, N.Y./Grand Street Campus) was named Skyline
Conference Player of the Week and senior pitcher Tom Heeman (Valley
Stream, N.Y./Hewlett) was named Pitcher of the Week for baseball on
Monday, May 4th.
Yera batted .778 (7-for-9) with five runs scored and five runs batted in in the Rams’ first two Skyline Conference tournament games. In a win over Mount Saint Vincent, Yera was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. He went 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBI against St. Joseph’s in the second round.
Heeman gave the Rams a strong start in their Skyline Conference tournament opener. Heeman surrendered just five hits and two runs over seven innings against Mount Saint Vincent in earning his conference-leading seventh win of the season. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
