Skyline Releases Baseball Report #1

- Bohonan named Player of the Week, Ferrante Rookie of the Week -


Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the first baseball report for the 2011 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics

Sophomore outfielder Terrence Bohonan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for baseball. Bohonan started off the 2011 season well, batting .423 (11-for-26) with six runs scored and three RBI. He went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and one batted in against RIT and led the Rams with three hits versus Western New England. Terrence only has one strikeout in 26 at bats thus far this year.

Freshman outfielder Anthony Ferrante (Holtsville, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Ferrante collected five hits in 12 at bats and scored three runs on the week. He went 3-for-5 with a triple and run scored in Farmingdale State's 5-1 win over Keene State. Anthony posted an impressive .583 slugging percentage.

Junior pitcher Chris Phelan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Phelan picked up his second win of the season (2-0) against Keene State after allowing five hits and one earned run over 7.2 innings.
