- Phelan selected to First Team All-New York Region -

The 2012 All-Region teams have been announced and senior pitcher Chris Phelan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named First Team All-New York Region.

Phelan finished the season with a 9-1 record in 11 games started and selected as the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year. He finished with an ERA of 2.01 and helped the Rams capture their 5th straight Skyline Championship. This season he faced 309 batters,  and posted career-highs for wins (9), complete games (4), strikeouts (79) and career-lows for runs (24), earned runs (17), walks (11), extra-base hits allowed (9) and opponents batting average (.213). He leaves the Rams with 16 All-Time records and 9 single-season records.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools and conferences. The 2012 season is the first season these have been awarded, and 713 players were nominated.

For each of the eight regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.
