Patric Santiago Receives Chancellorís Award

On Monday, March 28th, Chancellor Robert L. King honored 264 graduating students from 60 SUNY campuses with the Chancellorís Award for Student Excellence. Each of the honorees has excelled both in academic achievement and in at least one of the following areas: leadership, athletics, community service, creative and performing arts or career achievement. This yearís recipients of the Chancellorís Award have an overall grade point average of 3.75.

One of the recipients this year is junior Patric Santiago, of Baldwin, NY, who is a member of four intercollegiate athletic teams at Farmingdale State and carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the Management Technology major. Patric is the starting goalkeeper on the menís soccer team; he competes in the high jump and triple jump in indoor and outdoor track, and is a member of the golf team during the spring season. Patric is also a member of the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, and has been a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for the past two years. Patric was also featured in a recent article in Newsday about collegiate student-athletes who juggle more than one sport.
