Havas Leads Rams in Tri-Match Victory

East Setauket, N.Y. - Senior Kyle Havas (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) posted a one over par 71 leading Farmingdale State to a first place finish in a tri-match hosted by Suffolk Community College at St. Georges Country Club. Havas was three-over par through 17 holes and went on to eagle the 18th, setting a new career low to earn medalist honors. Sophomore Joe Russo (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) shot a career low 76 for the Rams, and freshman Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) shot a 79 in his first collegiate match for Farmingdale.

The Rams defeated Junior College powerhouse Nassau Community College by one stroke. Matt Levosi shot a team low five-over par 75 for Nassau and Dan Carr posted a 76.

Farmingdale will now travel to High Bridge Hills Country Club on Thursday, April 10th for a Quad-match hosted by Centenary College.
