Rams Finish 9th at ECAC Championships

Collegeville, Pa. - Sophomore Shane Smith (Brooklyn, NY/Lafayette) and junior Akil Williams (Jamaica, NY/August Martin) led the men's indoor track team to their first-ever Top-10 finish in the ECAC Championships on March 3rd and 4th at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. The team scored 26 points to tie for ninth place out of 44 scoring teams and 62 entered teams.

Shane Smith vaulted 15'5" to place 2nd in the Pole Vault. This is a new school record, personal best and NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifier. Akil Williams placed 2nd in the High Jump with a jump of 6'6 ?" (1.99m), also a personal best.

Senior Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) and sophomore Ian Lovergie (Castle Point, NY/Beacon) both placed 4th in their events to complete the scoring. Patric tied his personal best with a jump of 44'2" (13.46m) in the Triple Jump. Ian jumped 6'4 ?" (1.94m) in the High Jump.
