Seton Hall Games - Seton Hall University - South Orange, New Jersey

- Rams qualify six more athletes for the ECAC Championships - 


South Orange, N.J. - The men's and women's indoor track team qualified six more athletes for the ECAC Championships (March 7th and 8th at Harvard University) this weekend when they competed at the Seton Hall Games. This brings Farmingdale State's total qualifiers to 10 men, one woman and two Relays.

Reggie Routier won the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.73m (45' 1/2") and is undefeated in the event this year. The team took the next three places for an unprecedented 1, 2, 3, 4 finish. In second was Reuben Hairston in an ECAC qualifying 13.19m (43' 3 1/4"), third place was Qasim Ellis at 13.08m (42' 11") and fourth place was Chris Herbst in 12.82m (42' 3 1/2"). Reggie and Qasim had previously qualified for the ECAC meet.

Naveed Mohammed won the Long Jump in an ECAC qualifying 6.79m (22' 3 1/2"). Naveed has also qualified in the 55m Dash. Following Naveed in third place was Reuben Hairston with a jump of 6.59m (21' 7"). This was Reuben's second ECAC qualifying mark of the day.

Cathryn McLean placed second in the High Jump with a personal best and ECAC qualifying jump of 1.62m (5' 3 3/4").

Chris Herbst placed fourth in the 60m High Hurdles with a personal best ECAC qualifying time of 6.53.

Gina Pierre placed third in the 20 Lb Weight Throw with a toss of 10.43m (34' 2 3/4"). Her throw just missed tying the school record by 1/4".

Additional highlights:

David Casillas - 35 Lb Weight Throw, 14.02m (46'), new personal best.

Marc Bernstein - Shot Put, 11.06m (36' 3 1/2"), new personal best.

Brandon Drummond - Shot Put, 11.99m (39' 4"), new personal best.

Nicole Zarek - 60m Hurdles, 10.61, new personal best.

 

Farmingdale State will not compete again until Saturday, January 12th at the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
