New York, N.Y. - Farmingdale State senior captain Chris Okolie (Bronx, N.Y./Hills East) smashed his own school record (47' 1 1/4") with an ECAC qualifying throw of 51' 2 3/4" on Friday, January 25th at the Great Dane Invitational in the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. Chris placed 8th in the event. Sophomore Kensley Norian (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) ran 22.83 in the 200-meter Dash to also qualify for the ECAC meet. The men's team placed 13th out of 27 teams.

The men's and women's teams now have qualified for a school record 16 individual events and 2 relays for the ECAC Championships on March 7th-8th at Harvard University.

55-meter High Hurdles - Chris Herbst, 8th place, 7.85, Improves ECAC qualifying time

Triple Jump -  Reggie Routier, 4th place, 13.84m (45' 5")

Triple Jump - Qasim Ellis, 7th place, 13.55m (44' 5 1/2")

High Jump - Akil Williams, 8th place, 1.91m (6' 3 1/4")

The teams next meet is on Friday, February 8th at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New Balance Track & Field Center (168 St. Armory) in New York, N.Y.
