McLean Wins CTC High Jump Championship and Pierre Breaks the School Record in the Weight Throw

New Haven, Conn. - Junior Cathryn McLean (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and sophomore Gina Pierre (Wyandanch, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) led the women's Indoor Track team to a 15th place finish at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships this weekend at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The CTC is comprised of 35 Division I, II and III teams.

Cathryn won the High Jump in an NCAA Division III National provisional qualifying performance of 1.65m (5'5"). This also improves her ECAC qualifying jump.

Gina broke the school record in the 20lb Weight Throw with a toss of 11.43m (37' 6"). The previous record was 34' 3". Four of Gina's six throws in the competition were above the old school record.

The Rams next meet is Friday, February 15th at the Lafayette/Rider Indoor Games held at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y.
