Senior Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) claimed this week's PrestoSports/MBWA Player of the Week Award by leading Farmingdale State (3-3 Overall, 2-0 Skyline) to a 1-1 week.
Opening up on the road at New Jersey City University, he scored 12 points while grabbing 8 boards. Two nights later, McMillan led the Rams to a 103-102 triple overtime victory at Manhattanville. In that contest, the 6'4" forward netted 35 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and 5 steals. For his career he now has 1,347 points, just three away from becoming Farmingdale's all-time leading scorer. McMillan was also honored as this week's Skyline Conference Player of the Week.
The Met Basketball Player of the Week Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the nearly 70 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state area have the ability to nominate one male and one female student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the previous seven days. An esteemed panel of eight media members votes to select from the nominations the most outstanding player. Kenny was the first Division III player to win the award this year.
