Collegeville, Penn. With a 61-point second half, Farmingdale State (23-5) overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Ursinus (21-7) 93-82 and advance to the second round of the Division III NCAA Tournament. This marks the first NCAA Tournament win in school history and the first Skyline Conference win in the Tournament since 2002.
Farmingdale State had five players in double figures, including 17 points, six steals and four assists from junior guard Terry Menefee (Mission, KS/Shawnee Mission North). Freshman guard Daimien Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady), the Skyline Co-Rookie of the Year, finished the game with 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Senior guard Dashawn Warren (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) tallied 15 points, eight boards, three assists and three steals. Senior forward Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows), the Skyline Player of the Year, totaled 13 points (all in the second half). Senior forward MD Mazique (Bronx, NY/Taft) had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Ursinus was led by Mike McGarvey with 20 points and six assists. Three players finished with 15 points, Matt Fabian, Brian McEvily and Nick Shattuck. Fabian also added 10 rebounds for the games only double-double.
