Santana Named to Met Basketball Player of the Week Honor Roll

Farmingdale State sophomore guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) was named to the Met Basketball Player of the Week Honor Roll for men's basketball on Monday, December 11th. Santana led the Rams in a 2-0 week with 17 points, shooting 50% from behind the arc. He had a career game on December 6th in a 2-point, 57-55, victory over Yeshiva as he finished with career highs of 25 points and 7 three-pointers (7-of-9). He then added nine points in the Rams win over Mount Saint Vincent on December 9th.

About the PrestoSports/MBWA Weekly Player of the Week Award

Founded for the 2004-05 season, the Player of the Week Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the nearly 75 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state area have the ability to nominate one male and one female student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the previous seven days. An esteemed panel of eight media members votes to select from the nominations the most outstanding player. Any player who receives any votes, but are not named the Player of the Week, are then named to the Honor Roll.
