Rams Pick Up Fifth Conference Win

Garden City, N.Y. - Sophomore guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) led the Rams with 18 points in a 78-66 conference victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (6-6, 2-2) tonight in a game played at Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY. Farmingdale State had four players in double figures and outrebounded the Mariners 37-30 in the win to remain undefeated in the Skyline (5-0) and improve to 9-3 overall.

Rams senior Terry Menefee (Montgomery, AL/Shawnee Mission North, KS) finished with 13 points, 11-of-13 from the free throw line, while junior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, CT/Shelton) had 13 points (four three pointers) and junior forward Brian Robinson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) contributed 10 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Freshman guard Shane Denully (Bronx, NY/Our Saviour Lutheran) led from the point with five assists, five boards and seven points.

Merchant Marine senior guard Brian Kelly (Belle Harbour, NY/Archbishop Molloy) led with 14 points. Freshman guard Ryan Samuel (Cedar Hill, TX/Cedar Hill) posted 11 points and sophomore guard Pat Grace (Ellicott City, MD/Cardinal Gibbons) had 10 points.

Farmingdale continues play at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY in a conference doubleheader with the women's team. The men's tip-off is slated for 8:00pm.
