Farmingdale, N.Y. – Senior guard Terry Menefee (Montgomery, Ala./Shawnee Mission North (Ks.)) finished with a total of 20 points after a 16-point second half and three dunks to lead the Rams (13-7) past the visiting Yellow Jackets of New York City Tech (6-17). Farmingdale has won three straight and is heating up just in time for the upcoming playoffs.
The Rams opened up a 13-0 lead in the first and City Tech scored their first basket six minutes into the game to make it 13-3. With a nine point lead at halftime, Farmingdale shot 52.6-percent from the field and increased the lead into double digits. Junior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) held 12 points at the half and finished with 14 and four assists. Sophomore guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) totaled 13 points and junior forward Tom Canning (Oak Beach, N.Y./Babylon) posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
City Tech sophomore forward and former Farmingdale player Ryan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) led the Yellow Jackets with 25 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Senior guard Otis Saylee (New York, N.Y./Seward Park) and sophomore forward Issaka Yaya (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert Lehman) had 10 points each.
Farmingdale will host Maritime College in a Skyline Conference game on Wednesday, February 7th at 8:00pm.
