Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men's basketball team picked up a conference win in their final regular season game to move to 17-8, 11-5 in the Skyline with a 112-58 victory at home against Mount Saint Vincent (3-22, 1-15). Today marked the final regular season home game for seniors Terry Menefee (Montgomery, Ala. / Shawnee Mission North) and Sean McCabe (Bellmore, N.Y. / W.C Mepham). Menefee finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and a block. McCabe posted 7 points and 5 rebounds.
The Rams scored 41 points in the first half before exploding for 71 in the second. Farmingdale finished shooting 59.7 percent from the floor. The team recorded the highest point total in a game since joining the NCAA Division III in 2000.
Rams sophomore Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Grady) added a game-high 17 points, a team-high six rebounds, and two steals in the win. Junior Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn. / Shelton) dropped 15 points including three from outside the arc.
Junior Derek Charlton (Yonkers, N.Y. / St. Raymond's) contributed 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Dolphins. Freshman P.J. Ratzke (Riverhead, N.Y. / Riverhead) added nine points.
Farmingdale will host the opening round of the Skyline Conference playoffs as the fourth-seed on Tuesday, February 20th. The Ram's opponent will be announced later this evening as other conference action is concluded. The men's game is slated for 8:00 p.m. following the women's first round game at 6:00 p.m.
