Farmingdale State - 85, Baruch College - 80

Farmingdale, N.Y. – After Baruch’s (1-3) junior forward Mike Dietz (Queens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) tied the game at 78-78 with 1:06 remaining on a long three-pointer, the Rams held on with five-of-six free throws in the final minute to take an 85-80 victory in a non-conference men's basketball game in Farmingdale, N.Y. Junior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) scored four of the final seven points for Farmingdale State (2-1).

The Rams had five players in double figures, including Shannon who finished with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) led with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Senior guard Warren McAllister (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Far Rockaway) and sophomore guard Merlin Bass (Queens, N.Y./Cardozo) both had 11 points. Senior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) had 10 points and three boards.

For Baruch, freshman guard Lionel Hilaire (Far Rockaway, N.Y./ Archbishop Molloy) registered a game-high 19 points. Sophomore forward George Kunkel (Glendale, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) posted 18 points and 12 rebounds and freshman guard Tammer Farid (Woodside, N.Y./Stuyvesant) had 16 points.

Farmingdale State now travels to New Jersey City University on Wednesday, November 28th for a double-header with the women’s team starting at 6:00 p.m. The men’s game will follow the women.
