Farmingdale State - 74, St. Joseph's - 70

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men’s basketball team (9-4, 6-1 Skyline) handed St. Joseph’s (10-3, 6-1) their first conference loss of the season tonight in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams led 35-30 at the half and held the lead up until the 7-minute mark of the second when the Golden Eagles took a one-point lead, but Farmingdale was able to hold on through the stretch and take a 74-70 victory.

In the final six minutes, the lead did not eclipse four points by Farmingdale, and the Rams were led by junior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague), junior guard Joe Cammarata (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) and senior forward Brian Robinson (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains). Shannon finished with team-highs of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Cammarata finished with 14 points, including seven-of-eight crucial free throws in the final minutes of play. Robinson registered 12 points and 10 rebounds.

St. Joseph’s senior guard Phil Lipari (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) scored 20 points for the Golden Eagles. Senior forward Brandon Freeman (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) had 15 points and junior guard David Acree (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) finished with 12 points.
