Santana Reaches 1,000-Point Mark against Mount Saint Mary

Farmingdale, N.Y. - On Saturday, January 19th in a Skyline Conference game against Mount Saint Mary College, Farmingdale State junior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) reached the 1,000 point scoring mark with a 15 point effort in the Rams 113-80 victory.

Damien was 13 points shy of 1,000 at the start of the game. His 1,000th point came his second free throw with 28 seconds remaining in the first half, putting his team up 49-30 just before the break.

Santana's career started off strong, being named the Skyline Conference Co-Rookie of the Year in 2005-06, which was also the Rams first-ever Skyline Championship season. During his sophomore year, he scored 410 points with a team-leading 14.6 per game, once again earing All-Conference Honors.

Currently, Damien holds 1,004 points to date and is leading the conference in scoring with 20.9 points per game. He is also ranked 32nd in the Nation among all Division III players in points per game.

Santana and the Rams will be back in action this Thursday, January 24th in a home game at 8:00 p.m. against Skyline opponent Yeshiva University.
