Farmingdale State - 111, Mount Saint Vincent - 71

 


Farmingdale, N.Y. – Eight of eleven players registered in double figures in scoring today for Farmingdale State (12-4, 9-1), as they defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent (7-10, 4-6) today in a Skyline Conference men’s basketball game. The Rams shot 52-percent from behind the arc in the 111-71 victory, hitting 13 three pointers.

Farmingdale State senior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) led the team with 19 points (4 from three-point territory), while junior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) was second in scoring with 18 points. Junior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) registered the games only double-double of 12 rebounds and 11 points. Junior guard Joe Cammarata (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) finished with 15 points. Others in double figures were Warren McAllister (12), Daniel Phillips (12), Davon Jackson (10) and Merlin Bass (10).

For the Dolphins, senior guard Derek Charlton (Yonkers, N.Y./St. Raymond’s) led with 17 points and eight rebounds. Freshman forward Kenneth Widgeon (Plainfield, N.J./The Hotchkiss School) finished with 15 points and junior guard Joe Cooke (Mt. Vernon, N.Y./Fordham Prep) scored 13 points.

The Rams will now travel to face Skyline opponent Purchase College on Tuesday, January 29th at 8:00 p.m.
