Farmingdale, N.Y. – Junior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) dropped 27 points and had five steals to lead the Rams to an 84-69 victory over Maritime College (13-14) tonight in a Skyline Conference Semifinal game in Farmingdale, N.Y. Farmingdale State (21-5), the top seed in the Skyline Tournament, will host the Championship game this Saturday night, March 1st at 8:00 p.m. against second-seeded St. Joseph’s - Patchogue.
Senior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) scored the first eight points of the game to start the Rams off with the lead. Farmingdale State led for the majority of the first half, with Maritime’s only lead coming with 4:37 on the clock. The Rams took the lead two minutes later and would hold on throughout for the win.
Senior guard Warren McAllister (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Far Rockaway) finished with nine points and two blocks for the Rams, while both junior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) and senior forward Brian Robinson (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) scored eight points.
Maritime had four players in double digits, with senior forward Jamal Webb (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Tuckahoe) led with 15 points. Junior guard Rahshawn Pringle (Bronx, N.Y./Frederick Douglas) finished with 14 points, sophomore guard Jermell Fraser (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had 13 points and freshman forward Giovanni Hurley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Middle College) had 10 points.
