Rams Roll to First Conference Win with Santana's 28
Farmingdale State - 86, Polytechnic - 64
Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team improved to 4-1, 1-0 in the Skyline with an 86-64 victory over Polytechnic (0-7, 0-2) on Tuesday night, led by senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) with a season-high 28 points and eight rebounds.
After leading 38-26 at halftime, the Rams shot 56-percent in the second to put up 48 more points and take the commanding win in their first conference game of the season. Junior guard Mike Campbell (Bronx, N.Y./Samuel Gompers) posted his second double-double of the season with 19 points and 14 rebounds for Farmingdale State. Two others finished in double figures for the Rams, including senior forward Davon Jackson (New York, N.Y./Rice) with 13 points and junior forward Dan Phillips (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) with 10 points.
Polytech's Arjun Ohri scored 23 points, Anthony Mottola scored 14, and Jason Buckner finished with the games second double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Farmingdale State will now travel to Throgs Neck, N.Y on Saturday, December 6th for another conference game at Maritime College at 4:00 p.m.
