Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State posted an impressive 104-60 victory over the visiting Gothic Knights of New Jersey City (3-4) tonight in a non-conference men's basketball game in Farmingdale, N.Y. Rams junior guard Mike Campbell (Bronx, N.Y./Samuel Gompers) scored a game-high 28 points, 15 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play.

Farmingdale took a 40-31 lead into the locker room, led by Campbell's 13 points and 11 rebounds and senior guard Joe Cammarata's (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) 10 points. The Gothic Knights had some foul trouble in the first, with 14 fouls against six for the Rams.

In the second, Farmingdale State shot 59-percent from the field and 58-percent from three-point territory for a huge second half of 64 points. The Gothic Knights again ran into foul trouble in the second, with two starters fouling out with 11 minutes remaining to play. The Rams forced 25 turnovers and outrebounded the Gothic Knights 56-30, while adding a total of 14 steals for the night.

Joining Campbell for the Rams scoring leaders was senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) with 26 points, who hit 10-of-11 free throws. Cammarata was 4-of-6 from behind the arc and finished with 16 points. Junior forward Dan Phillips (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) had 10 points in his 16 minutes of play.

Freshman forward Taquan Abdullah (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) led for New Jersey City with 14 points, followed by senior guard Kyle Ingram's (Sicklerville, N.J./Winslow Township) 13 points and freshman forward Rashawn Small (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) with 12 points.

Tonight's game finished up the first semester of play for Farmingdale State. They will resume play in 2009 on Tuesday, January 6th in a home doubleheader against Skyline Conference and SUNY rival Old Westbury. The women's game begins at 6:00 p.m. and the men's game follows at 8:00 p.m.
