Rams Rout Mount Saint Mary

Newburgh, N.Y. - Senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn,
N.Y./Grady) led all scorers with 26 points as the Farmingdale State
College men's basketball team rolled to a 95-47 victory over Mount
Saint Mary College in Skyline Conference action on Saturday. The
Rams improved to 10-2 overall and to 5-1 in conference play while
the Blue Knights dropped to 2-8 overall and to 1-3 in the
Skyline.
After allowing the Rams an early 15-3 advantage, the Mount rallied
to score twelve of the next sixteen points, making the score 19-15
near the ten minute mark. From there, Farmingdale ripped off a 17-4
run to lead 36-19 at the four minute mark of the first half. The
Rams carried a 47-25 advantage into the intermission and the Mount
never got closer than eighteen points for the rest of the game.
Santana was 11-for-21 from the field and also had 5 assists to go
along with his 26 points. Junior Daniel Phillips (Baldwin,
N.Y./Baldwin) was 7-of-10 from the floor, finishing with 21 points
and 8 rebounds.
For the Blue Knights, senior Alex Kuchar (Rutherford, N.J.) led the
team with 13 points. Senior Chris Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) had 10
points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots, but went just 5-for-17
from the field.
Farmingdale State will now host Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, January 17th at 1:00 p.m.
