Rams Overpower Dolphins for Conference Win
Farmingdale State - 92, Mount Saint Vincent - 65
Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team came home with a 92-65 conference victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday night in Riverdale, N.Y. The Rams (12-7) improved to 11-3 in the Skyline with the win, while the Dolphins (13-7) fell to 8-7 in the conference.
In the first half, Farmingdale was able to build up a 13 point lead, 41-28, after hitting 7-of-14 three-pointers and holding Mount Saint Vincent to just 31-percent shooting. The Rams kept the pressure on in the second, outscoring the Dolphins by 14 to come home with the victory.
Farmingdale had four players in double figures for the night. Senior forward Jermaine Abraham (Brooklyn, N.Y./Wadleigh) finished with the games only double- double of 12 rebounds and 11 points. Junior guard Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) had 17 points, senior guard John Dabney (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) had 15 points, including 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Junior forward Robert Adon (New York, N.Y./A. Philip Randolph) totaled 13 points and junior forward Davon Henry (New York, N.Y./Wadleigh) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds. Senior guard Keith Nandin (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe and dished out a game-high five assists.
For Mount Saint Vincent, Dino Johnson scored a game-high 19 points.
The Rams will now host Mount Saint Mary College in another Skyline Conference match-up on Saturday, February 5th at 3:00 p.m.
