Skyline Releases Men's Basketball Report #2
- AJ Matthews named Player of the Week -
New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the second Men's Basketball report for the 2011-12 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Junior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball. Matthews had a monster effort in leading the Rams to a 2-1 week. He posted three double-doubles while averaging 23.7 points per game (60% FG) and 14.0 rebounds a game. Matthews posted 25 points and 16 boards in a win over Baruch and followed that effort with 26 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Cobleskill in the first game at the Thanksgiving Tournament hosted by Hamilton College. In the Championship game, AJ scored 18 and recorded 10 rebounds as the Rams fell to Hamilton.
