Rams Make it 5 Straight on Senior Night

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team won their fifth straight game tonight with an 88-56 victory over Skyline opponent Maritime College (3-21, 3-14). The Rams improve to 19-5 overall, 15-2 in the conference with one game reamining in the regular season.
Tonight's game marked Senior Night for Robert Adon (New York, N.Y.), Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y.). Adon finished the night with nine points and three rebounds, Flournoy posted 11 points and six assists, and Smith totaled 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
In the first, the game stayed close and Farmingdale State led 14-12 with 11:02 to play, before the Rams ran away with the game on a 16-3 run over the next six minutes for the 30-15 advantage. The lead would be 16 or more for the rest of the game as they rolled to their fifth consecutive win.
Junior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) continued his streak of double-doubles (21) with 24 points, 22 rebounds, while adding five blocks. Junior guard Ryan Davis (Flushing, N.Y.) poured in nearly a triple-double as he finished with 11 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the night. Freshman forward Ibrahim Johnson (New York, N.Y.) scored 10 points and nine boards to round out the Rams five players in double figures.
For Maritime, Mike McSloy totaled a game-high 29 points, while Bill Sherwood scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Farmingdale State will finish up the regular-season on Saturday, February 18th at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. Playoff seeds will be announced on Saturday night for next week's Skyline Tournament.
