FSC Athletics Winter Update #5

- Casey named Player of the Week -

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #5 on Monday, December 18th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (5-7, 4-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The FSC women's basketball team was 2-1 last week with a pair of conference victories over Sarah Lawrence (91-26) and Mount Saint Mary (57-50).

Senior forward Essence Casey (Huntington Station, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Conference Player of the Week. She averaged a double-double with team-highs in both points (19.7) and rebounds (12.3) in three games. Against SLC, she scored 18 points and had game-highs in rebounds (14) and assists (6). Casey tallied a game-high 19 points, had five assists and 11 boards at MSMC and ended the week with 22 points, four assists and 12 rebounds versus Albertus Magnus.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday, January 3rd when they play host to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in a Skyline game at 4:00 p.m.


Men's Basketball Update (5-4, 3-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State was 1-1 with an 80-71 victory at Yeshiva and an 87-49 loss at #6 Ramapo last week.

Junior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the team in field goal percentage (.640), free-throw percentage (1.000), scoring (19.0 ppg), rebounding (6.0 rpg) and blocks (3.0 bpg). Riefenstahl scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting and added six rebounds in the win at Yeshiva and followed with a game-high 16 points (7-for-11) to go along with six rebounds and four blocks at #6 Ramapo.

FSC next will host Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday, January 2nd at 1:00 p.m. on Faculty Appreciation Day.


Indoor Track Update

The track teams had the week off and next will compete at the Wagner College Invitational at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Friday, January 5th.
