FSC Athletics Winter Update #10

- Riefenstahl tabbed Player of the Week -

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #10 on Monday, February 5th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (14-7, 12-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The FSC men's basketball team posted a perfect 3-0 record last week with victories over Maritime (82-48), Sarah Lawrence (85-77) and Mount Saint Mary (75-54).

Junior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week after averaging a double-double with 14.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 59-percent from the field. Riefenstahl scored six points and had 12 boards at Maritime and followed with a career and game-high 28 points (11-for-14 shooting) to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds at Sarah Lawrence. He ended the week with 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists versus Mount Saint Mary.

This week the Rams will play a pair of home games: Wednesday vs. St. Joseph's-LI @ 8:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 2:00 p.m.


Women's Basketball Update (11-10, 10-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State earned victories over both St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (87-74) and Sarah Lawrence (93-35) last week.

Junior guard Alexis Antonacci (Plainview, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Antonacci shot 57-percent from the field and 61-percent from 3-point range in a 2-0 week for FSC. At St. Joe's-Brkln, she tallied 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range and tied a career-high with 11 assists. At Sarah Lawrence, Antonacci scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting (5-for-8 from 3-point range), had nine rebounds and five assists.

The women's basketball team is scheduled to play two home games this week: Wednesday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 5:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Purchase @ noon.


Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams will compete in two meets this week: Friday at the Fastrack National Invitational @ Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. and Sunday at the St. Joseph's Invitational @ St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, N.Y.
