Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team (1-4) broke a four-game losing streak today to win their first game of the season against visiting Lasell College (2-1) in overtime, 9-8. Freshman defender Chris Caine (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) scored the game-winner for the Rams on a long ball from mid-field with 56 seconds left in overtime. Junior midfielder Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) led the Rams with five goals and senior midfielder Matt Ramacca (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) finished with three goals. Meola and freshman attacker Kevin Sharkey (Bellmore, NY/Mepham) both had two assists. Sophomore goalie Chris Hardgrove (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) made nine saves for the win, including three key saves late in the fourth period to keep the game tied at 8 and force overtime.
