Stockton Outlasts Farmingdale for 12-9 Conference Win

Pomona, NJ Richard Stockton (6-5, 4-3 Skyline) scored three goals in the fourth quarter to snap a 9-9 tie and defeat Farmingdale State (3-9, 3-4 Skyline) 12-9 today. The Ospreys won their third consecutive game and dealt Farmingdale its fourth straight loss. Freshman Josh Dybus (Lyndhurst/St. Peter's Prep) led Stockton with four goals and Steve Mazurek (Jackson/Jackson) contributed two goals and two assists. Keith Bologno (Glen Gardner/ Voorhees) added one goal and three assists for the Ospreys.

Farmingdale State goalie Kevin Winters (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) played a superb game despite the loss, finishing with 23 saves. Chris Fiorenzo (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) led the Rams' offense with two goals and two assists. Stockton outshot Farmingdale State 61-24.

Fiorenzo scored for Farmingdale with 20 seconds left in the first half to tie the back-and-forth game 6-6. The Rams opened up a 9-7 lead in the third quarter but Jon Kelly (Howell/Howell) netted two consecutive goals for Stockton to tie the match 9-9 after three periods. The 9-9 deadlock was the fifth tie of the game.

In the fourth quarter, Dybus scored the eventual game-winner with 13:30 to play and added another tally five minutes later. Bologno gave Stockton a three-goal cushion with 5:04 on the clock and the Ospreys went on to the 12-9 victory.

Stockton will travel to Kean for a Skyline Conference game on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 pm. Farmingdale State will host Stevens in a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
