Ninth-Ranked Stevens Defeats Farmingdale 17-5

Farmingdale, N.Y. ? Farmingdale State fell to ninth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology (12-2, 9-0 Skyline) today in a conference men's lacrosse game in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams trailed the Ducks 14-1 at halftime, before notching four goals in the final two periods for a final score of 17-5. Farmingdale dropped to 3-10, 3-5 in the conference with the loss.

Stevens senior attacker Joe Van Sickle (Amherst, N.H./The Peddie School) scored five goals, including the game-winner to lead the team. Junior attacker J.R Oreskovich (San Diego, Calif./La Costa Canyon) also finished with five points, as he netted two goals and had three assists for the Ducks. Senior goalkeeper Jack Dunderdale (Ridgefield, Conn./Immaculate) made 5 saves for the win.

Farmingdale's senior goalkeeper Kevin Winters (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) had 12 saves in the first two periods. Freshman midfielder Paul Randazzo (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) scored two goals for the Rams. Senior midfielder Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) picked up a team-high nine ground balls and scored the final goal of the day, his 117th career goal, with one second remaining in the game. Junior attacker Jeremy Goohs (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) and freshman attacker Jared Baglietto (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) both had one goal apiece.

The Rams will next host Skyline opponent Kean University (10-3, 4-2) for the final home game of the regular season on Saturday, April 21st at 1:00 p.m.
