Rams Fall in Non-Conference Game at Molloy

Flandina (West Islip, NY) scored five goals to help lead the Molloy
College men’s lacrosse team to a 17-3 victory over the Rams
of Farmingdale State College on March 12. The non-conference
victory improves the Lions overall record to 3-0 , while the Rams
fall to 0-3.
Flandina notched three of Molloy’s five goals in the first
quarter as the Lions kept the Rams off the scoreboard in the first.
However, 15 seconds into the second quarter, Farmingdale recorded
their first goal of the game. But Molloy answered back by scoring
another five goals and went into halftime with a 10-1 edge. The
Lions went on to hold the Rams scoreless during the third quarter,
while Molloy added four goals to their total to hold the 14-1 lead
after three quarters of play. Freshman Lincoln Nembhard (Elmont,
NY) placed one between the pipes to record his first collegiate
goal and gave the Lions a 15-1 advantage. The Rams went on to score
the next two goals but Molloy returned with two goals of their own
before the end of play for the 17-3 win.
Flandina led all players with five goals, while freshman John
Scorcia (Franklin Square, NY) added two goals and an assist. Junior
Michael Salisbury (Freeport, NY) contributed one goal and passed
out three assists and freshman Ryan Bohlert (East Patchogue, NY)
and junior Mike Ryan (Farmingdale, NY) each had two goals. Senior
Rob Humann (Hicksville, NY), freshman Glenn Greubel (North Merrick,
NY) and senior Tim Pressler (East Meadow, NY) all saw time between
the pipes and combined for six saves.
The Lions travel to Seton Hill for a 4:00 PM non-conference game on
Friday, March 14.
