Rams Shutdown Centenary on Senior Day

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's
lacrosse team defeated Centenary College, 19-8, in the final home
game of the season today. Seniors Mike Maxwell (West Babylon,
N.Y./West Babylon), Sean Maxwell (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon)
and Thomas Weil (St. James, N.Y./Connetquot) played in their last
home game for the Rams. Sean Maxwell finished with four goals and
two assists and Mike Maxwell scored three goals and had one assist.
Weil finished with one assist, five ground balls and two caused
turnovers.
Farmingdale State jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the first period and led 12-2 at the half. The Rams increased the lead to 19-3 in the fourth period and went on to defeat the Cyclones 19-8.
Farmingdale won 23 of 31 faceoffs, with 11 wins by junior
midfielder Adam Zuar (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and 10 from
freshman midfielder Joe Nacarlo (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon),
who also had a game-high 11 ground balls. Freshman defender Bobby
Lazos (Bellmore, N.Y./Holy Trinity) had seven ground balls for the
Rams. Freshman attack Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park)
finished with three goals and four assists, while sophomore attacks
Eddie Rifice (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) and Peter McManus (Plainview,
N.Y./Plainview) each added three goals for Farmingdale State.
Junior goaltender Teddy Leone (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) made
five saves in the win.
Centenary senior goalie Brian Troilo (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) made five saves in the loss, while senior attack Travis Roy (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park) and junior attack Jason Rieg (Chester, N.J./West Morris Central) led the team with three goals each.
The Rams will travel to Mount Saint Vincent for the final regular season game of the season on Saturday, April 25th at 6:00pm.
