Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men's soccer team increased their winning streak to six games, shutting out Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Mary College, 2-0, today in Farmingdale, N.Y. Rams junior midfielder Bryant Rodriguez (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) scored the first goal, which became the game-winner in the 31st minute of play, as he put back a rebound off the Blue Knights goaltender. With 15 minutes left to play, junior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y./ Babylon) added an insurance goal off a quick pass in front from freshman midfielder Paul Leite (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) for a 2-0 lead. Mount Saint Mary pressured the Rams throughout the game but Farmingdale held an 18-0 shot advantage. Blue Knights senior goalkeeper Kyle Reiss (Oxford, N.Y./Oxford Academy) recorded five saves in defeat. Farmingdale State will travel to St. Joseph's College on Wednesday, October 10th in another conference match starting at 3:00 p.m.
