Farmingdale State - 6, Purchase College -

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men’s soccer team improved to 10-9 today with a convincing 6-0 win over Purchase (6-12-1) in a Skyline Conference Quarterfinal match-up. Senior forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, N.Y./Wolmers Boys School) scored two goals in his final home game for the Rams to help the team advance to the Semifinal round on Thursday, November 1st.

Farmingdale State sophomore forward Prince Eltosam (Bronx, N.Y./Christopher Columbus) also scored two goals in the win. Senior captain and defender James Varrichio (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) scored the team’s third goal of the day. Sophomore defender Mathew Arthurs (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) added an unassisted goal.

The Rams now face top-seeded St. Joseph's in the Skyline Semifinals on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Patchogue, N.Y.
