Men's Soccer

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The All-Skyline men's soccer teams were released by the conference with four players from Farmingdale State receiving honors this season. Senior forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, N.Y./Wolmers Boys School) was named First Team, while sophomore goalkeeper Patric Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport), junior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) and senior defender James Varrichio (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) received Second Team honors.

Whilby, a senior captain, led the team in scoring. Ranked 94th in the nation in points per game and 76th in goals per game. Three game-winners this season. Ranks 8th in the conference for goals per game and points per game.

Gubbins, the teams starting goalkeeper, broke a school record with seven shutouts this season. He held conference opponents to 1.19 goals against, finished third in the conference in goals against average and led the conference in shutouts and shutouts per game.

Mueller, a junior midfielder, set a career-high of 17 points as a midfielder/defender this year. He scored six goals, including two game-winners this season.

Varrichio, a senior captain and defensive standout, pushed through a torn ACL to start the final twelve games of his senior season. He scored one goal and had one assist for the year.
