Rams Fall in Second Half to Mariners

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men's soccer team went into the second half at a 0-0 tie against Merchant Marine (6-1), before the Mariners scored four goals to take the 4-0 non-conference win from the Rams (2-3).

Farmingdale State outshot the Mariners 6-5 in the first half, but could not capitalize in front, before Merchant Marine shut down the Rams in the second with a 15-2 shot advantage. Mariner goals were scored by freshman midfielder Casey Desiderio (Media, Pa./Penncrest), junior midfielder Clint Foster (Mt. Pleasant, Texas/Mt. Pleasant), senior midfielder Brad Silveria (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch) and freshman midfielder Phillip Dreher (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury).

Rams junior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made three saves in defeat, while senior goalkeeper Preston Stokes (Overland Park, Kansas/Blue Valley Northwest) made one save for the win.

Farmingdale State will have a week break before traveling to Drew University next Wednesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m.
