Rams Win Streak Reaches Six Games

Farmingdale State - 7, Mount Saint Vincent - 0

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men’s soccer team defeated Mount Saint Vincent, 7-0, in a Skyline Conference game this afternoon in Farmingdale N.Y. The Rams improved to 8-5 overall and 5-0 in Skyline Conference play.

Farmingdale State wasted no time taking the early lead, Ryan Paul (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) scored the games opening goal on a pass from Alex Mendolia (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) only 1:20 into the contest. Paul would add his second score of the afternoon at the 13:37 mark, giving the Rams a 2-0 advantage. Ryan Lang (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon), Ryan Standridge (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and Mendolia would each add a first half goal for Farmingdale State, Frank Volante (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) recorded an assist on three of the goals. The Rams did not allow a shot in the half.

In the second, the Rams added two more goals, an assisted goal by Tyler Balzer (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) on a pass from Standridge and just before the game ended a score by Joseph Catanzarite (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip). Farmingdale State remains unbeaten in the Skyline Conference.

Second half replacement Ricky Meschkow (Plainview, N.Y./Planview) had two saves for Farmingdale and William Raftery (Bronx, N.Y./Salesian) had three saves in the defeat for Mount Saint Vincent.

The Rams will play at home on Monday, October 20th at 4:30 pm in a non-conference game against Baruch College.
