#15 Amherst - 5, Farmingdale State - 0
Amherst, Mass. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team traveled to play the #15 ranked Amherst College this afternoon and fell, 5-0. The Rams drop to 7-7 on the season, while the Mammoths improve to 10-2-2 overall.
Leading 1-0 early in the first half, Amherst extended their lead to two in the 21st minute when sophomore forward Bijan Zojaji (Miami, Fla.) scored off the feed from freshman defender Gabe Gitler (San Diego, Calif.).
The Mammoths went into the break leading 2-0, as they outshot the Rams 19-4 in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Amherst recorded three unassisted goals en route to the 5-0 non-conference victory.
FSC senior goalkeeper Daniel Stern (Kings Park, N.Y.) totaled 10 saves in the loss.
Farmingdale State next travels to St. Joseph's-Long Island for a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m.
