NYU-Poly Defeats Rams in Skyline Semifinals

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team was defeated, 5-4, by NYU-Poly in the Skyline Conference semifinal round of the playoffs.
In doubles play, Farmingdale won at #2 doubles as freshman Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and junior Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) teamed together to defeat Julian Wrede and Anton Fyodorov 8-6.
Genzmann also earned a victory at #4 singles with 6-2 and 6-3 wins. Senior Joe Hotzak (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown) won 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles, while freshman Adrian Summerlin (Riverhead, N.Y./Riverhead) won back-to-back sets after dropping the opening set 2-6 at #6 singles. The Rams earned a 3-3 split in singles competition.
Farmingdale State finished the season with an 8-5 overall record.
