Rams Defeat Brooklyn for Second Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - With a 7-2 win over Brooklyn
College, the Farmingdale State men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on
the season. Four Rams remain undefeated after two matches,
including senior Matt Kaczmarczyk (West Babylon, N.Y./West
Babylon), freshman Tom Johnsen (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge),
sophomore Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) and junior
Bill Jimenez (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip).
Farmingdale won five singles matches for the day and two doubles. Kaczmarczyk won at 2nd singles 6-2, 6-3; Johnsen won at 3rd singles 6-1, 6-3; Genzmann won at 4th singles 6-0, 6-1; freshman Theo Gioles (Wantagh, N.Y./Seaford) won at 5th singles 7-6, 6-4; and Jimenez won at 6th singles 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles play, Kaczmarczyk and sophomore Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Holy Cross) increased their overall record at 1st singles to 2-0 with an 8-4 win over Brooklyn's Hirsch and Rolando. Johnsen and Genzman also remain undefeated at 2nd doubles with another 8-4 victory over Brooklyn's Forberg and Flores. Gioles and Jimenez fell 8-5 to Brooklyn's 3rd tandem of Jean-Baptiste and Tan.
The Rams will now face Sage on Saturday, March 21st at home at 1:00 p.m.
